Mulled Cider Punch
Warm spiced apple cider with brandy—a Colonial American tradition
- 8 cupsfresh apple cider
- 1½ cupsapple brandy(or regular brandy)
- ½ cupbrown sugar
- 4cinnamon sticks
- 8whole cloves
- 4star anise
- 1orange(sliced)
- 1Combine cider, brown sugar, and spices in large pot
- 2Heat gently over medium-low, do not boil
- 3Simmer for 20 minutes to infuse spices
- 4Add brandy and orange slices
- 5Keep warm over low heat
- 6Serve in mugs with cinnamon stick garnish
