The Cold Brew Martini is a home-bartender-accessible variation of the Espresso Martini — Dick Bradsell's 1983 London creation combining fresh espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur, and sugar — that substitutes commercially available cold brew coffee concentrate for the espresso, eliminating the need for a coffee machine. Cold brew coffee became a major commercial category in the early 2010s when brands like Stumptown, Chameleon, and Starbucks normalized the format, making high-quality concentrated coffee available off the shelf. The Cold Brew Martini trades the Espresso Martini's signature frothy crema top for a smoother, less aerated presentation in exchange for the convenience and slightly sweeter, less acidic flavor profile that cold brew naturally provides.
