Hurricane Punch
Pat O'Brien's famous New Orleans passion fruit and rum punch.
- 12 ozdark rum(aged preferred)
- 12 ozwhite rum
- 8 ozpassion fruit syrup
- 8 ozfresh orange juice
- 4 ozfresh lime juice
- 2 ozgrenadine
- Orange wheel, maraschino cherrygarnish
- 1Combine both rums, passion fruit syrup, and citrus juices.
- 2Add grenadine and stir well.
- 3Refrigerate until cold.
- 4Pour into punch bowl over crushed ice.
- 5Garnish with orange wheels and cherries.
- 6Serves 10-12 guests.

Created at Pat O'Brien's Bar in New Orleans during the 1940s. The bar allegedly named it after the hurricane lamp-shaped glasses it was served in. The passion fruit-forward punch became synonymous with Mardi Gras and New Orleans revelry.
