Ingredients

  • 12 ozdark rum(aged preferred)
  • 12 ozwhite rum
  • 8 ozpassion fruit syrup
  • 8 ozfresh orange juice
  • 4 ozfresh lime juice
  • 2 ozgrenadine
  • 🍋Orange wheel, maraschino cherry(garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine both rums, passion fruit syrup, and citrus juices.
  2. Add grenadine and stir well.
  3. Refrigerate until cold.
  4. Pour into punch bowl over crushed ice.
  5. Garnish with orange wheels and cherries.
  6. Serves 10-12 guests.

📜 History

Created at Pat O'Brien's Bar in New Orleans during the 1940s. The bar allegedly named it after the hurricane lamp-shaped glasses it was served in. The passion fruit-forward punch became synonymous with Mardi Gras and New Orleans revelry.
