Created in 1952 at Poor Red's BBQ in El Dorado, California, by bartender Frank Klein. A newly engaged couple asked him to create a celebratory drink to match their gold-colored Cadillac. The cocktail became so popular that Poor Red's became the world's largest consumer of Galliano liqueur.
