The Daiquiri was born in Cuba around the turn of the 20th century, named after the mining town of Daiquri near Santiago de Cuba. The original three-ingredient recipe — rum, lime juice, and sugar — was popularized by American mining engineer Jennings Cox in the 1890s. The Virgin Daiquiri strips away the rum entirely, keeping the bright citrus balance that made the original a global classic. Today it stands as one of the most requested mocktails in bars worldwide, appealing to anyone who loves a well-balanced sour cocktail without the alcohol.
