Ingredients

  • ½ ozKahlua(bottom layer)
  • ½ ozIrish cream(middle layer, such as Baileys)
  • ½ ozCanadian whiskey(top layer, Crown Royal traditional)

Instructions

  1. Pour Kahlua into the bottom of a shot glass.
  2. Using the back of a bar spoon, slowly layer Irish cream on top.
  3. Again using the spoon technique, carefully layer whiskey on top.
  4. The layers may blend slightly at the top - this is normal.
  5. Serve immediately and drink in one shot.

📜 History

The Duck Fart shot originated in Anchorage, Alaska in the late 1980s. Legend says a bartender was experimenting with a customer who suggested layering Kahlua, Baileys, and Crown Royal. After drinking several, the woman made a distinctive sound that inspired the name. The shot became famous at Alaskas Red Dog Saloon in Juneau.
