History & Origin

Mango is one of Brazil's most beloved tropical fruits, cultivated across the northeast and available fresh throughout most of the year. Its use in the Caipirinha format is part of the broad Brazilian tradition of caipifruta — fruit caipirinhas — where the classic lime base is replaced by or combined with seasonal fresh fruit. The mango version delivers an exceptionally smooth, sweet cocktail due to the natural richness of the fruit purée. It has long been a fixture at Brazilian beach bars and poolside venues, and is cited in multiple Brazilian cocktail guides as one of the most popular fruit caipirinha variants.
