The Hot Toddy has 18th-century origins, with Scottish distillers often credited for popularizing a warming blend of whiskey, honey, lemon, and hot water. Similar concoctions were consumed across Europe and India. The non-alcoholic Hot Toddy became a go-to cold-weather mocktail in the 2020s as NA whiskey alternatives improved enough to carry the warming, spiced profile the drink demands.
