Pomegranate Sparkler draws on the pomegranate's status as one of the world's oldest cultivated fruits and most symbolically charged ingredients. Native to the region from modern Iran to northern India, the pomegranate has been cultivated for at least 5,000 years and appears in ancient Babylonian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Persian, and Hebrew texts as a symbol of fertility, abundance, and immortality. The fruit is central to Persian New Year (Nowruz) celebrations, Jewish Rosh Hashanah traditions, and Greek mythology (Persephone's pomegranate seeds that bound her to the underworld). The commercial popularity of pomegranate juice surged in the early 2000s through brands like POM Wonderful, whose research into polyphenol antioxidant content positioned pomegranate as a superfood. The Pomegranate Sparkler combines this fruit's intense ruby color and tart-sweet flavor with sparkling water.
