  • ozreposado tequila
  • ½ ozcampari
  • ½ ozsweet vermouth
  • ½ ozdry vermouth
  • 1 dashangostura bitters
  • lemon twistgarnish
Instructions
  1. 1Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
  2. 2Stir for 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
  3. 3Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  4. 4Express an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.

The Rosita's dual-vermouth structure makes it a Perfect cocktail in the technical nomenclature — equal parts sweet and dry vermouth, each contributing a different herbal register — applied to a tequila-and-Campari base. Reposado tequila, aged between two and twelve months in oak barrels under the Denominación de Origen Tequila regulations, contributes vanilla and mild caramel from the wood alongside the agave's earthiness, providing a slightly rounder, more complex base than blanco tequila would in the same formula.
