The Snickers Shot is a candy bar-inspired dessert shooter built around one of the most commercially successful confections in history. The Snickers bar was created by Frank Mars — founder of the Mars Company in Tacoma, Washington, who had been producing candy since 1911 — and launched commercially in 1930. Mars named the bar after the Mars family's favorite horse, also named Snickers. The candy's structure — nougat base, caramel layer, roasted peanuts, and milk chocolate coating — produces a flavor profile whose four distinct components are all present simultaneously in each bite. Snickers has been the best-selling candy bar in the world by revenue for most of the past several decades, with global annual sales exceeding $2 billion. The shot replicates the candy's key flavor elements through ingredient selection: Kahlúa or chocolate liqueur provides the dark chocolate coating character; Frangelico hazelnut liqueur, produced by Barbero in Canale, Italy since 1978 in its distinctive monk-shaped bottle, approximates the roasted peanut and nut character (hazelnuts being a botanical relative of peanuts in the flavor register); Irish cream provides the nougat-and-caramel dairy richness. The combination does produce a flavor impression genuinely reminiscent of the candy — not through literal reproduction but through the shared aromatic compounds in the chocolate, nut, and caramel registers.
