Ingredients
- ¾ ozrye whiskey
- ¾ ozcognac
- ¾ ozsweet vermouth
- 1 barspoonbenedictine
- 1 dashangostura bitters
- 1 dashpeychaud's bitters
- 🍋lemon twist(garnish)
Instructions
- Add rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, and both bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir for about 30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.

The Vieux Carré was created at the Hotel Monteleone's Carousel Bar in New Orleans. It draws on golden age techniques and is named for the French Quarter.
