📜 History

The Negroni was born in Florence, Italy, around 1919 when Count Camillo Negroni asked his bartender to strengthen his Americano by swapping soda water for gin. That single substitution produced one of the most iconic aperitif cocktails in history — equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, served over ice with an orange peel. The Virgin Negroni strips away the alcohol while preserving the essential character of the drink: a deeply bitter, slightly sweet, citrus-forward stirred cocktail. Pomegranate juice delivers the color and fruit depth of the sweet vermouth, while tonic water contributes the essential bitterness that defines the Negroni's palate.
