History & Origin

The Virgin Orange Fizz is a non-alcoholic interpretation of the Screwdriver and Harvey Wallbanger cocktail family, capturing the bright citrus refreshment of orange-based drinks without the vodka. The tradition of sweetened, carbonated orange drinks has deep roots in American soda fountain culture, where orange sodas like Orangina, Fanta, and Orange Crush established the category from the early 20th century onward. The craft-made Virgin Orange Fizz elevates this tradition using fresh orange juice rather than artificial flavoring, combined with soda water and a touch of citrus acid for balance. As the non-alcoholic cocktail movement matured in the 2010s, fresh-juice-based mocktails replaced artificially flavored alternatives at quality restaurants, and the simple orange fizz became a benchmark of how good a zero-proof drink could taste.
