The C*cksucking Cowboy is a layered shooter of butterscotch schnapps and Irish cream, and in specification it is indistinguishable from the Buttery Nipple - several drinks references treat the two names as regional labels for a single shot. Where the name came from is not settled. Some accounts place it in American college-bar culture of the late 1990s, noting that it reached print in bartending guides by the early 2000s; others record it chiefly as an Australian bar name, with the plain Cowboy used for the same build. What is consistent across sources is the method: butterscotch schnapps poured first, Irish cream floated over the back of a barspoon so that the two remain visibly separate. A three-ingredient version adding Tia Maria circulates in British drinks listings, but it is a minority reading against the two-ingredient consensus. Like the Slippery Nipple and the Blow Job, the drink's commercial life has rested on the social theatre of ordering it aloud as much as on its flavour, which is simply sweet - burnt sugar and dairy, with nothing bitter or astringent in it.
