Ingredients

  • 1 ozcognac
  • 1 ozcalvados
  • 1 ozsweet vermouth

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir for 25-30 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a chilled coupe.
  4. Serve without garnish.

📜 History

Harry Craddock included several Corpse Revivers in the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, each designed as a morning pick-me-up. Number 4 combines brandy with apple brandy for a double dose of fruit spirit, intended for the most desperate cases. Craddock noted these should be consumed "before 11 a.m."
