📜 History
The Jägerita was created by bartender David Cordoba in London in September 2008. Cordoba served it at an evening where influential bartender Jeffrey Morgenthaler was present. Morgenthaler, initially skeptical, tried the drink and was immediately won over, later writing about it on his blog as a "guilty pleasure." In 2014, Morgenthaler put the Jägerita on the opening menu of his Portland bar Pépé Le Moko, giving the drink lasting cocktail bar credibility. Treating Jägermeister as an amaro rather than a party shot — paired with Cointreau and lime in the classic sour template — the Jägerita is now recognized as a contemporary classic.
