The Jolly Rancher Jello Shot applies the jello format to one of the most recognizable American hard candy flavors. Jolly Rancher, founded in Golden, Colorado in 1949 by the Stott family, became famous for its intensely concentrated fruit flavors — watermelon, green apple, cherry, blue raspberry, and grape — that delivered a fruit punch far beyond what fresh fruit could provide. The jello shot version recreates individual Jolly Rancher varieties using flavored gelatin combined with vodka, with the specific color and flavor chosen to match a single candy variety. Watermelon and green apple versions became the most popular, and the shots are sometimes presented in a mixed assortment to let guests pick their preferred flavor, recreating the candy bag experience in adult form.
