The Mudslide Shot concentrates the Mudslide cocktail into a single shooter. The full drink is most often traced to the Wreck Bar at the Rum Point Club on Grand Cayman in the 1970s, where - by the bar's own telling - a guest ordered a White Russian, the bartender had vodka and Kahlua but no cream, and substituted Baileys Irish Cream, creating the Mudslide. Its three core spirits are vodka, coffee liqueur and Irish cream; the full-size version adds cream or, in the frozen build that TGI Fridays helped popularise, vanilla ice cream. The shot strips those extras and serves the three liqueurs shaken and strained. Chocolate appears only as an optional garnish - a syrup drizzle or shaved chocolate - not as an ingredient; the Rum Point original is served with no chocolate at all. Mudslide shots became a fixture of American casual bars through the 1990s alongside other sweet, dessert-style shooters.
