The Quick F*ck is another product of the 1990s bar culture that discovered naming a shot after something suggestive guaranteed it would be ordered repeatedly, especially at bachelorette parties and birthday bars where the point of the order was as much the saying of the name aloud as the drinking of the drink. The shot's actual composition — layers of coffee liqueur, amaretto, and Irish cream — is a straightforward dessert combination in the tradition of the Blowjob, the Slippery Nipple, and a dozen similar layered shots from the same era. The three components are chosen partly for flavor and partly for their differing densities, which allow them to be poured in sequence across a bar spoon to create distinct visible layers in a shot glass: the heavier coffee liqueur sinks to the bottom, the Irish cream floats on top, and the amaretto sits in between. Coffee liqueur's roasted depth, amaretto's almond sweetness, and Irish cream's dairy richness form a combination sometimes described as a liquid tiramisu. Midori variants of the recipe swap in the Japanese melon liqueur in place of or alongside the amaretto, adding a green color that creates a three-layer visual. The drink contains no genuinely unusual ingredients and its flavors are objectively pleasant — the name is entirely responsible for its staying power on bar menus across four decades.
