Brandy Blazer
A dramatic flaming cocktail from Jerry Thomas featuring ignited brandy with citrus peel oils. A theatrical showpiece.
- 2 ozbrandy
- ½ ozsimple syrup
- 1 ozhot water
- Flamed orange peelgarnish
- 1Warm the brandy gently (do not boil).
- 2Pour into a heatproof glass.
- 3Carefully ignite the brandy with a long lighter.
- 4Express an orange peel through the flame (oils will ignite).
- 5Extinguish by adding the hot water and syrup.
- 6Stir and serve immediately.
- 7CAUTION: Use extreme care with open flame.
