📜 History
The Irish Cocktail first appeared in Harry Johnsons 1900 Bartenders Manual as a sophisticated showcase for Irish whiskey. The original recipe called for Bokers Bitters, which is no longer produced, making this a true piece of cocktail history. The drink also appeared in Harry MacElhones 1927 Barflies and Cocktails and Harry Craddocks 1930 The Savoy Cocktail Book, cementing its place as a pre-Prohibition classic.
